The California CHW Community of Practice is a learning collaborative that envisions CHWs of all job titles and cultural backgrounds are recognized and empowered to bring the voice of the community expertise to the decision-making table in all aspects of promoting health and wellness in California.

CHWs' workforce development activities include expanding the role from service delivery into the creation of new knowledge, based on daily praxis and lived experience. In order for CHWs to effectively participate in the evaluation, research, and clinical interventions, specialized training in research is needed and shared.
